Email to a Million People

Hello Million People,

Fact is, there are seven billion people on this planet.  One million of them is reading this message at this moment, and it astounds me one voice can be heard from one million readers.  I hope you are all well, and I wish you the best on the rest of the day.  At this moment, I am in my English class writing this message, and I have no idea what to say.  There are million of ways to say hello, to talk in a simple conversation, to pass a point along; from pictures, to speeches, to emails, texts, music, art..and the list goes on.  My knowledge of how is few and far between. I don't know your situation, who you are, what languages you may speak, what color your hair, skin, eyes are.  One thing I can say that is relevant to you all is that we are all humans living together in a busy world, reading this letter to you right now.

What I am going to ask of you is for you to look at the world around you.  Take ten minutes today, go outside, and just sit there.  Look at what's around you, what natural beauty actually lies there.  Smell the fresh air, and go for a walk.  If you live in the country, city, suburbs; wherever you are, go and appreciate what is around you for those ten minutes.  Realize that one million other people are doing the exact same thing as you are.  How often do you get to do this?  How often do you walk outside, carefree, look at the beauty of the world, and just be immersed in it all?  Let the beauty overwhelm you, let your stress wash away, and appreciate nature and the planet in all your different ways and societies.  The one thing we do have in common is we all live on this planet and I'm asking one million people to read this and notice that we are only one person in seven billion people, but one planet holds all these seven billion people together.  Love this planet and everything on it.  It is one thing to to live through our busy lives and not have time to care for yourself, but a whole other to not care for what's around us too.

Is this planet not beautiful?

For ten minutes look at it today and actually see it.  And take a deep breathe, close your eyes, and just be.

Sincerely,
Regan
